Lab undergraduates Mia Foglesong, Adelaide Harper, and Carson St. Denis present their Senior Honors Theses at the Undergraduate Honors Thesis poster conference in the UNC Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. Mia and Adelaide are pursuing careers in neuroscience and Carson is pursuing a career in medicine following graduation.

The CASL is thrilled to welcome incoming graduate student, Gretchen Wulfekuhle who will be joining us from Florida State University, where she is currently a Research Coordinator in the Gratton lab. Gretchen will work jointly with the CASL and the Cohen lab at UNC and is interested in understanding how the neural networks that underlie emotions and social behavior change in aging! Principle Investigator Kristen Lindquist gives keynote at SANS
Dr. Kristen Lindquist presented a keynote address at the Social Affective Neuroscience Society meeting in Toronto. She described the lab’s work on the neural, psychological, and cultural mechanisms of emotion.

The CASL is thrilled to welcome incoming graduate student, Yuritza Escalante, who will be joining us from UC Irvine, where she is currently a Junior Research Specialist in the Yassa Lab. Yuritza is interested in pursuing research on the brain basis of emotion and she learned today that she is a recipient of the prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship! Graduate student Ruofan Ma is the recipient of the P.E.O. International scholarship. The P.E.O. Scholar Awards (PSA) was established in 1991 to provide substantial merit-based awards for women of the U.S. and Canada who are pursuing a doctoral-level degree at an accredited college or university.
