The CASL is sad to say goodbye to Maria Sobrino and Courtney Medina, who have worked on our project on child and adolescent socioemotional development for the past two years. Maria is off to start a PhD at CUNY, where they will study sexual and gender identity, stigma, and health behaviors with Dr. Sarit Golub. Courtney is off to start a PhD at the University of Pittsburgh, where she will study adolescent mental health, sexual and gender identity, and relationships with Dr. Sophie Choukas-Bradley. We’re sad to see you go, Maria and Courtney, but can’t wait to see where your careers will take you!
Amrita Mani presents her Senior honors thesis work
Senior Amrita Mani presented her thesis at the UNC Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Senior Honors Thesis poster session. Amrita is graduating with Highest Honors and will attend the University of Pittsburgh Medical School to pursue an MD in family medicine next year. We are so excited for her!

Jennifer Fan receives a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship!
Congrats to junior Jennifer Fan, who received a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship from the UNC Office of Undergraduate Research. Jennifer will use her SURF to learn neuroimaging analysis and test associations between sleep quality and the activation of brain regions subserving emotion regulation across the adult lifespan.
